Ontario Police Concerned About Community Accessing Illicit/Deadly Drugs

​Local law enforcement and school officials have continued to be concerned about increased access to counterfeit pills that may contain lethal doses of fentanyl. Despite this being an issue that has been more broadly publicized in recent months, police are concerned about the dramatic rise in the number circulated counterfeit pills, and how easily accessible they are to the public.
 
Criminal drug networks are mass-producing the fake pills and false marketing them as legitimate prescription pills to deceive the public. They are easy to purchase, widely available, often contain fentanyl or methamphetamine and can be deadly. Many counterfeit pills are made to look like prescription opioids such as oxycodone (Oxycontin, Percocet), hydrocodone (Vicodin) and alprazolam (Xanax); or stimulants like amphetamines (Adderall).
