Distrito de recreación de Ontario
En noviembre de 2018, los votantes de Ontario aprobaron la Medida 23-60, estableciendo un Distrito de Recreación separado de la Ciudad. A partir del 1 de julio de 2019, el Distrito Rec será responsable de organizar, dirigir y programar actividades recreativas para joevenes, adultos y personas mayores. El Rec District también administra el Ontario Splash Park.

Parques y aire libre
Parks in the City of Ontario offer a variety of recreational options for individuals and families looking to get outside. For information regarding the City's Parks Master Plan, park maintenance, or park reservations; visit the Parks Division page.
Lions ParkLocated on SW 4th Avenue. Neighbors the splash park, skate park and tennis courts. Shade structures are available to reserve for parties and events.
Treasure Valley Connector TrailThe Treasure Valley Connector Trail was constructed with the help of a grant in Spring of 2020. The trail connects Lions Park to the southeast corner of Treasure Valley Community College's sports facilities. Future plans include connections to the Oregon State Recreation Site and the future Tater Tot Trail along the Snake River.
Japanese GardensThe Japanese Gardens are located at the Four Rivers Cultural Center. The gardens provide a beautiful, serene atmosphere to walk, picnic, or simply enjoy. The Cultural Center also hosts "Live After 5 in the Garden", a free community event featuring live music, during the summer.
Railroad Depot ParkThe Depot Park sits behind Downtown Ontario and offers benches and shade next to the historic Depot Building.
Ontario Splash ParkLocated at Lion's Park, the Splash Park operates from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The park offers a number of water features for children to enjoy and also includes amenities for adults. Phone-charging stations, lounge chairs, shade structures, bathrooms, and vending machines are available on-site.
The Splash Park can be reserved for parties through the Recreation District. An event room is also available adjacent to the Park. The Ontario Splash Park is open to the general public at no cost. It is operated by the Ontario Recreation District. |
Beck-Kiwanis ParkA beautiful 31-acre park located on NW 8th Avenue. Amenities includes ponds, walkways, playground equipment, and baseball fields. Tennis courts at the park are budgeted to be repaired in the 2019-2020 fiscal year.
Malheur River TrailThe Malheur River trailhead is located off of Malheur Drive. Parking and a trail leading to the river were added in 2020. Future plans include easier access to the river and a yakport for water vessel launches. For updates on this project click here.
Moore ParkMoore Park sits near the entrance of Downtown Ontario and is the meeting place for the Ontario Saturday Market. It offers an optimal location if you are planning a community event.
Oregon State Recreation SiteThe Oregon State Recreation Site is right off of Interstate 84 and provides visitors shore-side view of the Snake River. Boat ramps and areas for swimming, fishing, and playing are available.
Optimist ParkOptimist Park is a three-acre park that provides a lot of room to run. The park is typically used for soccer games, but is an excellent and beautiful space for the public to enjoy.
Lanterman-Kiwanis ParkLocated at the crossroads of SE 5th Avenue and SE 5th Street, Lanterman-Kiwanis Park includes soccer goals, playground equipment, and a newly constructed dog park.
