Public Hearing Notice – Proposed Amendment to Building Code
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CITY OF ONTARIO BUILDING CODE TITLE 4, CHAPTER 1, SECTION 1.13 OF THE ONTARIO MUNICIPAL CODE (OMC); AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
The Ontario City Council will hold a hearing on April 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber of the Ontario City Hall, 444 SW 4th Street, Ontario to hear public comments on the above-entitled ordinance (Ordinance No. 2845-2026). Interested persons may also participate in the hearing electronically via ZOOM; login by computer/tablet/smartphone: https://zoom.us/j/2115424962 . The City desires to amend/delete OMC 4-1-1.13 to remove the Local Appeal Board appeal procedure. Oral comments may be given during the public hearing. Written comments will be received up to and including the date and time of the hearing and may be emailed to Tatiana Burgess [email protected]. A copy of the ordinance may be obtained by contacting Tatiana Burgess [email protected]. Questions should be directed to the Building Department at 541-881-3222 or Tatiana Burgess [email protected].

The City of Ontario is in the process of developing a Greenspace Master Plan which will evaluate the City’s current tree canopy, develop goals and strategies for improving its future tree canopy, and provide recommendations for implementation of new tree planting. Please take our survey so we can gather your feedback to help influence the plan. This survey should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your responses will remain confidential and will only be used for influencing the goals and objectives of the Greenspace Master Plan. Thank you in advance for your time and input.
