​Several citizens of Ontario approached the city requesting additional options for interment at the city’s cemeteries. In response, city staff researched columbaria and presented a request to the Budget Committee for inclusion in the FY 2020–21 budget. Following the committee’s review, the City Council approved the proposal, and the columbarium was subsequently ordered and installed at Evergreen Cemetery in November 2020.
