What do we do?
The Parks Committee shall be an advisory board to the City Council and shall make all recommendations and reports to the City Council. Final determination for all matters pertaining to City Parks shall remain the responsibility of the City Council.
The Parks Committee shall have the duties and responsibilities to:
1. Act in advisory capacity to the City Council in all matters pertaining to city Parks.
2. Advise in the planning of parks for inhabitant of the city.
3. Promote and stimulate public interest in park activities, and solicit to the fullest extent possible the cooperator of school authorities and other public or private agencies; and
4. Recommend policies for the acquisition, development, and improvements of parks and playgrounds, including park master planning and design, subject to the rights and powers of the City Council.

The Parks Committee shall, follow the meeting dates established by the City, meeting at least quarterly, for the calendar year. Special meetings may be held after proper notification to the public and media. The Chairman shall have authority to call a meeting.
