UPDATE: ONTARIO, Ore. June 24, 2022, 4:00 pm – The Ontario Police Department continues to remain on scene to investigate the death of a juvenile. The Oregon State Police Criminal and Forensics Divisions and the Malheur County Sheriff’s Department have arrived on scene and are assisting with the investigation. The road remains closed from the intersection of Sierra Vista Dr and SE 7th St to the intersection of SE 7th St and SE 9th St. The road will not reopen until the scene is clear. The Ontario Police Department will release more information as the situation evolves. ONTARIO, Ore. June 24, 2022, 10:00am– The Ontario Police Department responded to an incident on SE 7th St at 6:30 am this morning. The Department is currently on scene actively working the investigation. The road is closed from the intersection of Sierra Vista and SE 7th St to the intersection of SE 7th St and SE 9th St. There is no risk to the public. Only local traffic is permitted within the barricade during this time. Ontario Police Department asks nearby residents to share any camera footage, such as from a Ring camera, that they have of SE 7th Ave from June 23, 2022, at 3:00 pm to June 24, 2022, at 7:00am. Residents can send their footage by email to Liz Amason, Police Support Specialist, at liz.amason@ontariooregon.org.
