Façade Grant Program – Phase III This grant supports the restoration and beautification of historic commercial storefronts in downtown Ontario. Funded in partnership with Revitalize Ontario, it offers financial assistance to property owners for projects that preserve historic character, enhance visual appeal, and promote public a Eligibility: Commercial buildings in zones C-1, C-2, C-2H, and C-3 within designated downtown corridors. Projects must follow program guidelines and be approved by the Certified Local Government Commission (CLGC). |
Sidewalk Incentive Grant Program Launched in 2022, the Sidewalk Incentive Grant Program helps improve public safety and walkability in Ontario by supporting sidewalk construction and repair. Property owners can apply for matching grants of up to $5,000 or 50% of project costs, whichever is less. Eligible Projects: New sidewalk installation, Rehabilitation or repair, Infill to close sidewalk gaps Projects must meet city and state standards and be approved by city officials. All residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties within city limits are eligible. |
Security Grant Program The City of Ontario has created a $25,000 grant program to support local business growth. This grant is focused on strengthening our business climate by helping existing businesses thrive and encouraging new development. Funds will be used to assess current business needs, review city codes for business-friendliness, and provide resources that support long-term economic stability in our community. Eligibility: commercial property owners within city zones C‑1, C‑2, C‑2H, and C‑3. Businesses can apply for up to $500 (with a required 50% match) to improve on-site security. Funds are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until the program runs out. |
