City Burn Permits
Residential
Residential burn barrels and open outside burning requires a permit issued by the Ontario Fire & Rescue Department. The permits may be obtained by calling 881-3210 or 881-3233 during business hours Monday through Friday for a site inspection, which is mandatory.
Permit fees are:
$15.00 for a seven (7) day open burn.
$30.00 for a burn barrel season, valid from May 1st to April 30th.
Location:
Fires and burn barrels shall not be within 20 feet of any buildings, fences, trees or property lines. The ground shall be clear of burnable material for a minimum of 10 feet.

Commercial Burn Permits can only be obtained by the State of Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
